In its first year, the all-electric FIA Formula E became a true success story for fans and racers. As the series heads into its fourth season, Audi has become the first German automobile manufacturer to join the grid, in the factory-backed Audi e-tron FE04. Competing for Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler will be youngster Daniel Abt (DE) and title defender Lucas di Grassi (BR). With fourteen races in eleven metropolises on five continents, this championship promises to truly electrify the world.
The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron and Audi Q7 e-tron quattro already show how exciting electromobility feels and how much potential there is in tomorrow’s mobility. Combining electric drive systems with combustion engines to give you the best of both worlds: Local emission-free driving in pure electric mode, sporty performance, a long range and lots of ways of charging up at home and on the move.
The next big thing: an all-electric production car from Audi. Two show cars showcase what the future of e-mobility will look like at the brand with the four rings – the Audi e-tron quattro concept and the Audi e-tron Sportback concept. Two important milestones in the e-tron evolution. In the coming year, the first one will be rolling off the production line.
The vision behind the Audi Aicon concept is a technological statement. It’s the embodiment of how far the envelope can be pushed in terms of drive systems, design and digitalization. The propulsion system of choice would be electric, via quattro all-wheel drive, enhancing dynamism and range thanks to a new efficiency concept that delivers over 800 kilometres on a single charge.
