MMI navigation plus: Never before has it been possible to control so many functions so conveniently and intuitively. The menu guidance principle makes a good start, with the clear carousel-style representation showing the individual items of the main menu on an 8-inch display using significantly improved graphics.

The map data for navigation with the 3D map view and three-dimensional representation of prominent buildings and places of interest is stored on a hard drive for rapid access and rapid route calculation.

A convenient speech dialogue system with whole-word voice control for operation of the navigation and – if present – directory, Bluetooth car phone or mobile phone preparation (Bluetooth) is also included.

Another component of MMI navigation plus is the optional Audi music interface, for connecting up devices such as an Apple iPod, Apple iPhone as well as USB storage media and MP3 players. The Audi music interface is housed in the centre console and operated via the MMI or leather multifunction steering wheel. Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones can be connected to the vehicle via the Bluetooth interface included in MMI navigation plus. This permits hands-free use of the phone in the vehicle via a microphone.

Outstanding: the Audi online services that simplify using Google Places of Interest, e.g. finding hotels or restaurants, or calling up a weather forecast for your destination area. The Audi online services are only available in conjunction with the Bluetooth car phone.

MMI navigation plus can only be ordered in conjunction with MMI touch, the touch-sensitive control panel for digits, letters and movements.

Navigation-based vehicle assistant

This optional system uses information from MMI navigation plus to identify features along the chosen route such as bends, junctions and motorway stretches. For greater safety and comfort, the system automatically adjusts the operating principles of the transmission, lights and Audi adaptive cruise control with stop & go function in advance; this avoids unnecessary gear changes when entering and coming out of bends, the surroundings are illuminated as a matter of foresight, and Audi adaptive cruise control with stop & go function is adjusted to avoid accelerating before bends or motorway exits, for example.
