Progressive, powerful, efficientThe engines in the Audi A4 Avant

The engines in the Audi A4 Avant: progressive, powerful, efficient. All the petrol engines are equipped with FSI, a particularly efficient method of direct injection. The TDI engines use modern common rail injection technology and have diesel particulate filters.

A range of torquey state-of-the-art diesel engines with four or six cylinders is available for the A4 Avant: beginning with the 2.0 TDI with its 105 kW and a torque rating of 320 Nm, continuing with the 2.7 TDI with 140 kW and 400 Nm of torque and concluding with the 3.0 TDI quattro with 176 kW and 500 Nm of torque. The 3.0 TDI quattro with 6-speed manual transmission accelerates the Avant from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. Its top speed is governed to 250 km/h.

Fuel consumption and emissions data:
Fuel consumption, combined: 5.3 - 6.8 l/100 km
CO2 emissions, combined: 139 - 182 g/km

The FSI engines in the Audi A4 Avant

The petrol engines in the A4 Avant are equipped with the tried-and-trusted FSI technology from the world of motorsport. In FSI engines, the fuel is directly injected into the combustion chamber in precisely metered quantities. This ensures efficient combustion and better utilisation of the petrol. TFSI combines FSI with a turbocharger to deliver even more power.

The 2.0 TFSI engine impresses with its pulling power: its outstanding peak torque of 320 Nm is available at an engine speed of just 1,500 rpm – for noticeably more driving fun. This engine is also equipped with the Audi valvelift system. This particularly variable valve timing system not only reduces fuel consumption, but also makes driving even more fun.

Fuel consumption and emissions data:
Fuel consumption, combined: 7.1 - 7.4 l/100 km
CO2 emissions, combined: 167 - 173 g/km
