The S4 is equipped with an innovative mechanical supercharging system with intercooler which turns the 3.0 TFSI V6 into a compact power plant with moderate fuel consumption. The engine is impressive not only for its tremendous peak torque of 440 Nm, but also its torque curve: at least 90% of the maximum torque is available across a speed range of 2,900 rpm to 5,300 rpm. 

Thanks to its very spontaneous response and exceptional power delivery across the entire speed range, the six-cylinder engine also permits a very dynamic driving style.
