This new generation reinforces why the Avant remains a cornerstone of Audi’s identity — delivering the space, sophistication and performance that continue to resonate strongly with New Zealand customers.”

Elegant and dynamic exterior design
The new Audi A6 Avant presents a confident and athletic presence, defined by clean proportions, sculpted surfaces and striking S line exterior styling. Large 21inch Audi Sport alloy wheels, dark exterior accents and black roof rails enhance its dynamic stance, while digital Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED rear lights deliver a distinctive lighting signature both day and night.
At the rear, the wide diffuser, sleek roof spoiler and dark chrome tailpipe trims reinforce the A6 Avant’s refined yet sporty character.
Digital and personalised: lighting technology
Advanced lighting technology is a defining element of Audi DNA, contributing to both safety and design distinction. The Audi A6 Avant features digital Matrix LED headlights, characterised by a new hexagon perforated stainless steel screen that gives the front end a more striking appearance.
At the rear, digital OLED taillights combine innovative technology with a strong visual identity. Their high recognition value enhances road safety, while proximity detection and communication lighting functions further contribute to driver awareness and safety in complex traffic situations.
Aerodynamics: the best drag coefficient of an Audi Avant with a combustion engine
The sporty design of the new Audi A6 Avant contributes to its outstanding aerodynamics, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.25, the best of any Audi Avant with a combustion engine.
Air curtains ensure smooth airflow around the front wheels and vehicle sides, while controllable cool air intakes behind the Singleframe grille optimise airflow through the engine bay. Audi has further refined sealing between the bumper and cooling unit, reducing airflow losses in this area by up to 70 percent.
At the rear, aerodynamic panels, an extended roof edge spoiler and a wide diffuser create a clean flow stall, striking an ideal balance between rear axle lift and air resistance.
Sound insulation has also been significantly improved (up to 30 percent compared to the previous model), with acoustic glazing for door and side windows fitted as standard, optimised door seals and newly developed drivetrain mountings contributing to interior noise reduction and enhanced comfort.
A spacious interior
With an overall length of 4.99 metres, the Audi A6 Avant is 60 mm longer than the previous model. Its 2,927 mm wheelbase ensures a smooth, comfortable ride on long journeys while delivering generous interior space. The vehicle measures just under 1.88 metres wide (excluding mirrors).
The luggage compartment offers 466 litres of capacity behind the rear seats, expanding to 1,497 litres with the rear seatbacks folded. The wide load area allows two large suitcases to sit side by side, while the 40:20:40 split folding rear seats provide exceptional versatility.
A rail system, load‑securing kit, partition net and electrically opening tailgate are included as standard, with hands‑free operation via a foot gesture.
A switchable panoramic glass sunroof is available as an option, spanning almost the entire cockpit and rear compartment. Nine individually controllable segments allow the interior to be flooded with light or fully shaded using a digital curtain controlled from the roof module.

Business lounge: the interior design philosophy
The interior of the Audi A6 Avant follows Audi’s latest design philosophy, combining human‑centric layouts, a digital stage, material‑driven design and visual clarity.
The digital stage centres around the curved Audi MMI panoramic display, featuring a 11.9‑inch Audi virtual cockpit plus and a 14.5‑inch MMI touch display with OLED technology. A 10.9‑inch MMI front passenger display is fitted as standard, enabling content streaming, navigation assistance and access to infotainment features, while a dynamic privacy mode ensures the driver is not distracted. Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System with head restraint loudspeakers are also fitted as standard.
Softwrap trim elements extend from door to door across the dashboard, visually widening the cabin, while the ambient lighting package plus highlights key interior contours. Indirect lighting beneath the panoramic display and centre console creates a refined floating effect.

Fuel-efficient and high-performance: MHEV plus technology
At launch, the Audi A6 Avant is powered by a 3.0‑litre V6 TFSI engine with MHEV plus technology, delivering 270 kW and 550 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7‑speed S tronic transmission and quattro all‑wheel drive, the A6 Avant accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
The MHEV plus system provides up to 18 kW of additional boost and up to 230 Nm of extra torque during acceleration, while regenerative braking recovers up to 25 kW of energy during deceleration. The 48‑volt system also enables an electrically driven air‑conditioning compressor, ensuring full climate control operation even when the engine is switched off.
The perfect blend of sportiness and comfort: the chassis
The new Audi A6 Avant delivers a true business‑class driving experience, supported by adaptive air suspension with electronically controlled damping, offering an exceptional balance between comfort and dynamic handling
The system automatically adjusts ride height according to driving mode and speed, lowering the car at higher speeds for improved aerodynamics or raising it by up to 20 mm for challenging road conditions. The system can also be operated via voice command for added convenience.
Progressive and efficient: quattro all-wheel drive
The Audi A6 Avant features quattro all-wheel drive with a sport differential on the rear axle, actively and variably distributing torque between the rear wheels.
By applying more torque to the outer rear wheel during dynamic cornering, the system enables more precise turning, counters understeer and enhances overall agility. In dynamic Audi drive select mode, handling becomes more rear biased for a sportier driving feel.

Perfected: highly connected control system with brake torque vectoring
Audi has further refined the interaction between suspension, drivetrain and braking systems in the new A6 Avant. The integrated brake control system, adaptive dampers and engine management now work together faster and more precisely, delivering confident, predictable handling in all driving situations.
Brake torque vectoring enhances cornering performance by selectively braking the inner wheels when traction limits are approached. This targeted intervention improves steering response, reduces understeer and results in handling that is more precise, stable and agile.
Improved handling: progressive steering and all-wheel steering
The re‑engineered steering system contributes significantly to the A6 Avant’s comfortable yet dynamic character, delivering improved response and clearer feedback from the road.
Standard electromechanical progressive steering varies its ratio depending on steering angle, providing stable highway behaviour and agile low‑speed manoeuvrability. Combined with all‑wheel steering, the rear wheels turn up to five degrees opposite the front wheels at low speeds, reducing the turning circle to just 11.3 metres.
At higher speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front, enhancing stability and precision.
A first for the A6: integrated brake control system
The Audi A6 Avant is equipped with integrated brake control (iBRS), a brake‑by‑wire system that decouples the brake pedal from the hydraulic system.
This enables seamless blending between regenerative and friction braking while maintaining a consistent, reassuring pedal feel. Electrohydraulic actuation builds braking pressure approximately twice as fast as a conventional system, reaching maximum braking force in just 150 milliseconds during emergency braking.
Brake torque vectoring further enhances agility by selectively braking individual wheels to improve cornering precision and control.
