The all-new Audi Q3

New Zealand, 19 January 2026 – Audi is proud to introduce the third-generation Audi Q3 - an evolution of a well-established bestseller in the premium compact segment. For over a decade, the Q3 has been a favourite among drivers seeking a balance of luxury, versatility, and performance. Now, the latest generation – due to arrive in New Zealand in April 2026 - sets new benchmarks in design, technology, and efficiency.

Following the successful launch of the new Q5 range, Audi is experiencing a strong upward trend. Greg Leet, General Manager of Audi New Zealand, says the arrival of the new Q3 comes at a pivotal moment for the brand.

“The launch of the new Q5 has driven a remarkable surge in sales, surpassing all sales records since the model’s New Zealand debut. Now, we’re excited to introduce the new Q3, a long-awaited addition to our lineup that customers have been anticipating for over seven years. With its competitive entry price and strong market appeal, we’re confident the Q3 will deliver a similarly strong performance.”

Packed with innovative features, the new Audi Q3 is designed to be a smart digital companion, offering enhanced comfort and safety for both drivers and other road users. Available in both SUV and Sportback variants, the Q3 also delivers impressive efficiency with a plug-in hybrid SUV model offering an electric range of up to 111 km*.

The Audi Q3 range

The new Audi Q3 range offers a versatile lineup of powertrains and body styles to suit a variety of driving preferences.

The entry-level model is the front-wheel-drive Q3 SUV, powered by a 1.5-litre TFSI four-cylinder engine delivering 110 kW and 250 Nm. Equipped with mild hybrid technology, a seven-speed S tronic transmission, and Audi’s cylinder-on-demand (COD) system—which temporarily deactivates cylinders under low to medium loads to reduce fuel consumption—this model is sharply priced from $74,990* (excluding on-road costs).

For those seeking more power, the 2.0-litre TFSI engine produces 195 kW and 400 Nm of torque, paired with Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system. This variant starts from $96,990* for the SUV and $99,990* for the Sportback

Completing the range is the new Audi Q3 SUV e-hybrid, which combines a 1.5 TFSI engine (130 kW) with an electric motor for a total system output of 200 kW and 400 Nm. A high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 25.7 kWh—nearly double that of the previous generation—enables an electric range of up to 111 km in the WLTP test cycle^. Under ideal conditions, it can charge with up to 50 kW DC. The Q3 e-hybrid is priced from $88,990*.

The sports suspension with two-valve damper control comes as standard across the range allowing for a more balanced driving experience.

A refined exterior

The new Audi Q3 presents a more athletic and refined exterior compared to its predecessor. Its wide Singleframe grille and sharply tapered headlights are seamlessly integrated into the aerodynamic design, giving the vehicle a bold and modern presence.

From the side, a horizontal shoulder line running between the headlights and rear lights creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, visually dividing the body and enhancing its sculpted look. The Q3 Sportback variant adds a coupé-like elegance to the SUV’s practicality. Its roofline slopes 29 mm lower than the standard SUV, delivering a sportier silhouette while retaining key SUV benefits such as easy entry, excellent visibility, and a versatile interior layout.

Customers can choose from ten exterior colours, including fresh additions like Sage Green and Madeira Brown. Notably, Madeira Brown is offered as a matte finish exclusive to the new Q3 range.

In a first for Audi’s compact segment, the Q3 also features acoustic glazing for the front side windows. Combined with PVB-A film between the glass panes, this innovation significantly enhances cabin quietness and overall driving comfort.

Interior design

The new Audi Q3 features a thoughtfully refined cabin that blends comfort, space, and modern aesthetics. A high-contrast layout creates a welcoming atmosphere, with the ‘Softwrap’ extending from the doors across the dashboard to emphasise horizontal lines and enhance the sense of spaciousness. Flush door handles and a clean, minimalist centre console contribute to the uncluttered look and feel.

The redesigned steering wheel control unit introduces two new column-mounted levers—one for gear selection and one for lighting and wiper functions. This change frees up space in the centre console, allowing for additional storage and dual cup holders.

Practicality is also a strong suit. The Q3 SUV offers up to 488 litres of boot space, expanding to 1,386 litres with the rear seats folded. The Q3 Sportback and Q3 e-hybrid offer up to 1,289 litres. A sliding and adjustable rear seat bench comes standard, adding flexibility for passengers and cargo alike.

Technology and innovation

Audi’s digital stage takes centre stage in the new Q3, featuring a 12.8-inch MMI touch display and an 11.9-inch instrument cluster. The curved, driver-oriented layout brings the digital experience of Audi’s full-size models into the compact segment. A head-up display supplements key driving information, enhancing convenience and safety.

Connectivity and convenience are elevated with a cooled inductive charging tray offering 15 watts of power, two USB-C ports in the front (concealed by a sliding cover), and two more in the rear.

The new Audi assistant, a voice-controlled AI avatar, enables intuitive control of numerous vehicle functions. Integrated directly into the vehicle, it appears on the central MMI display and, when active, also in the head-up display and virtual cockpit.

New damper system for comfort and power

The new Audi Q3 range features sports suspension with two-valve damper control as standard, delivering a more refined and responsive driving experience. This advanced system continuously adjusts to road conditions and driving inputs - such as steering, braking, and acceleration—calculating optimal damping for each wheel in real time.

Twin-valve dampers allow separate control of rebound and compression, enhancing both comfort and dynamic handling. Drivers will notice improved road feedback, sharper steering response, and a more noticeable distinction between relaxed and sporty driving modes.

Lighting

For the first time in this model range, digital Matrix LED headlights with micro-LED modules come standard across the range. This advanced system significantly improves illumination and integrates closely with driver assistance functions, as seen in the latest Audi Q5. Drivers can also personalise their experience by selecting from three dynamic coming/leaving home lighting animations via the MMI and deactivate specific lighting functions such as lane lights.

On the 195 kW SUV and Sportback models, digital OLED rear lights are fitted as standard. These are complemented by a continuous LED light strip and Audi’s new illuminated rings, adding a premium touch to the rear design.

Driver assistance systems

The new Audi Q3 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features that enhance safety and everyday driving convenience. For added comfort, adaptive driving assistant plus offers both longitudinal and lateral guidance, now enhanced with lane change assist.

A key innovation is the emergency assist. If the driver becomes unresponsive, the system can autonomously steer the vehicle to the shoulder and bring it to a safe stop, issuing visual, audible, and haptic warnings. An interior camera monitors driver alertness and triggers warnings if signs of drowsiness or distraction are detected. If the driver fails to respond, the Q3 initiates emergency protocols, including contacting emergency services.

Trained parking also allows the Q3 to learn and repeat custom parking manoeuvres, ideal for tight spaces. The reverse assist also helps navigate out of confined areas with ease.
