The safety of our customers and the reliability and long-term service life of our models represent our top priority. For this reason, Audi conducts programmes to constantly monitor the quality of its product.
As part of this, we have discovered that a change to the wheel alignment (toe and camber) on the rear axle may have occurred when recall campaign 42L1 (replacing nuts on rear axle) was performed on your vehicle.
For safety reasons, it is necessary to check the wheel alignment and, if required, to correct it. The work required to carry out the necessary checks and potential wheel alignment will take approximately two to three and a half hours and will, of course, be performed free of charge.
If a deviation in the wheel alignment is found on the rear axle, the tyres used since the campaign was performed will be checked for uneven wear. If a deviation is found with the wheel alignment which has caused tyre wear outside of normal parameters since carrying out recall campaign 42L1, then a contribution towards the cost of replacement tyres may be provided after consultation on a case-by-case basis.
To book your vehicle in to carry out the repair, please contact your local authorised Audi dealership at your earliest convenience to arrange a suitable time to book in your vehicle. Please find on the reverse of this letter a directory of all Audi authorised service centres in New Zealand.
